Economics is often referred to as a ‘real world’ subject.  The study of the subject helps to explain current affairs and much of what can be seen in the news.  We discuss topics as wide and varied as:  why the price of fuel is falling; what explains unemployment; the significance of globalisation; the growth of China; the impact of BREXIT and how the government make decisions about taxation and spending each year.  After studying this course students will realise the impact this subject has on day-to-day lives and have a better understanding of what is heard and seen in the media.
